Inverted Neutrino Mass Hierarchy ?
The recent results from the Los Alamos neutrino oscillation experiment, together with assumptions of neutrino oscillation solutions for the solar and atmospheric neutrino deficit problems, may place powerful constraints on any putative scheme for neutrino masses and mixings. Assuming the validity of these experiments and assumptions, we argue that a nearly unique spectrum of neutrino masses eme...

متن کاملEffects of neutrino oscillation on supernova neutrino: inverted mass hierarchy
We study the effects of neutrino oscillation on supernova neutrino in the case of the inverted mass hierarchy (m3 ≪ m1 < m2) as well as the normal mass hierarchy (m1 < m2 ≪ m3). Numerical analysis using a realistic supernova and presupernova model allows us to discuss quantitatively a possibility to probe neutrino oscillation parameters. We show that information about the mass hierarchy can be ...
متن کاملNeutrino mass, mixing and discrete symmetries
Status of the discrete symmetry approach to explanation of the lepton masses and mixing is summarized in view of recent experimental results, in particular, establishing relatively large 1-3 mixing. The lepton mixing can originate from breaking of discrete flavor symmetry Gf to different residual symmetries Gl and Gν in the charged lepton and neutrino sectors. In this framework the symmetry gro...
متن کاملLarge hierarchies from approximate R symmetries.
We show that hierarchically small vacuum expectation values of the superpotential in supersymmetric theories can be a consequence of an approximate R symmetry. We briefly discuss the role of such small constants in moduli stabilization and understanding the huge hierarchy between the Planck and electroweak scales.
